For the first time, the Fanfares of Kazan festival of brass orchestras was held in 2012 on the stage of the Menzhinsky Palace of Culture. Since 2014, the permanent venue of the festival has been the territory of the Kazan Kremlin museum-reserve.

In 2016, for the first time, a foreign team from the Republic of Kazakhstan took part in the festival, which allowed the festival to receive the status of “international”. Over the years, orchestras from cities of the Russian Federation, as well as Turkey and Belarus took part in the festival.

In 2018 19 groups took part in the festivals, among which the famed Pacific Fleet Orchestra (Vladivostok) performed for the first time.

In addition to performances in the Kazan Kremlin, the festival program included a procession along the tourist pedestrian street of Bauman. And for the first time in 2018 orchestras performed in parks and squares of the city. In 2018, the festival attended more than 75,000 people.

The festival program includes an opening ceremony, a parade ground, a march of orchestras in the Kazan Kremlin, an individual concert program and a joint orchestra performance, where more than 600 musicians simultaneously play the anthems of the participating countries of the festival.

Thus, in seven years the festival has grown from a one-day event on the stage of a small House of Culture to a festival of regional significance.
