International festival of brass bands “Fanfares of Kazan”



The Kazan Fanfares International Festival is a few days large-scale musical festival: performances by a joint orchestra, parade concerts, parades along the main pedestrian street, concerts in parks and public gardens of the city. For several days Tatarstan people and guests of the republic get acquainted with wonderful, original works written for a brass band.

The Ministry of Defense and the National Guard of the Russian Federation send orchestras from different regions of Russia. Representatives of foreign countries, who are in Kazan also might be participating.

The number of groups participating in the festival is constantly expanding. If in 2012 9 bands took part in the first festival, later in 2019 there were already 19 orchestras. The geography of the festival is vast.

For 8 years, the festival program has expanded significantly, which includes performances in the Kazan Kremlin, a procession along the city’s pedestrian street, parade concerts, performances in parks and public gardens of the city. The highlights of the festival traditionally remain within the walls of the Kazan Kremlin, where the winners of various competitions perform. In different years, the festival featured: opera singer Ruzil Gatin, vocalist Ignat Izotov, musician Veniamin Myasoedov and others.

The festival program is planned so that all concerts take place on tourist days. Entrance to all sites is free.

Sightseeing: The Kazan Kremlin Museum-Reserve, Bauman's main pedestrian street, Kremlin Embankment, Old Tatarskaya Sloboda, Petropavlovskaya Sloboda, Farmers Palace, Kazan Family Center, Ekiyat Puppet Theater.
