Svenskaya Fair is one of the brightest historical, trade, ethnographic, cultural, exhibition and sports and entertainment events held in Russia. The annual holiday that unfolds at the walls of the Holy Dormition Svensky Monastery has more than 300 years of history. Every time at the end of summer this fair gathered thousands of guests, and nowadays it gathers hundreds of thousands of people.

The fair is held in order to support domestic producers, strengthen and develop ties in the socio-economic, commercial and cultural cooperation between the regions of Russia and the countries of the Union of Independent States, foreign countries, preservation and enhancement of centuries-old Slavic Orthodox and folk traditions.
