The festival of Russian traditions “Steamed turnip day” is dedicated to the revival of the culinary traditions of our ancestors. The holiday is held annually on the last Saturday of the first autumn month. Turnip is the progenitor of vegetable crops cultivated in Russia.

There will be plenty of turnips on this day at the courtyard of the museum! And not only the steamed ones, but also fried and boiled! In addition to turnips, you will be offered to try onion cutlets, porridge in pumpkin, beetroot sushi. Do not believe? Come and try everything by yourself! How to get there? Listen to the sound of an accordion, to the voiced ditties! When you see the mummers, then you are there! At the festival there is a competition of the most beautiful and original costume!
The basis of the holidays is an extensive competitive program in which catering organizations, educational institutions, culture and all interested parties participate.
In 2018, the Steamed Turnip Day festival became the laureate of the III degree of the All-Russian professional award “Events of Russia”.
Sightseeing: near the museum there is a souvenir shop “Folk Crafts”. Tourists are also invited to visit the Pokrovsky-Vasilyevsky male monastery, museums and attractions of Pavlovsky Posad.
