The 30th international film festival “Message to A Man” will be held in St. Petersburg from September 11 to 19, 2020! Three decades is the history of the film festival from the first, enthusiastic, yet perestroika holiday to the current grandiose premieres on Palace Square and master classes by great directors that bring together hundreds of people. Many of these listeners will soon become directors themselves and will compete for film festival prizes.
It is enough to look at the list of the last year winners to understand what place the film festival took in Russia and in the world. The winner of the main competition is Midnight Family (USA) by Luc Lorenzen, who subsequently entered the Oscar shortlist. The prize for the best debut is “The Country of Honey” (Northern Macedonia) by Tamara Kotevskaya and Lubomir Stefanova, nominated for an Oscar in two categories at once. The winner of the national competition - "The owner of the deer" Ksenia Yelyan, traveled to dozens of movie screenings. Play and animated short films from all over the world.
An important part of the festival is the In Silico pilot competition, which has become the most popular movie screening program. And honorary prizes were awarded to Werner Herzog, Ulrich Zaidl, Claude Lantsmann, Paolo Sorrentino, Isabelle Huppert, Udo Kira and many other friends and guests of the film festival.
