The international festival of creativity and needlework "Kanitel" in 2019 will be the anniversary. The festival will provide an opportunity for all residents and guests of our city to get acquainted with the variety of handmade and copyright techniques by original masters from various regions of Russia: the Volga region, the Urals, Central Russia, the Crimea, etc. The richest craft fair will be presented by masters from more than 80 cities of the Russian Federation and not only. A variety of venues and festival events will be amazing. Unique creative workshops for adults and children, for children incredible workshops and development studios. For the well-read - quizzes and an exhibition in the library. For loving animals - a handmade zoo and a meeting with their future pets from the Hand to Help Homeless Animals Foundation. For active - fascinating shows and children's games. For apt - arbaletno-beam shooting. For daring ones - traditional game competitions. Two scenes will not let anyone get bored. For dancing dance flash mobs and round dances. For photographing - photo zones. For recreation - cozy areas. The second scene will be a full-fledged festival in the festival. Having settled in the hay, the guests of the festival will rest under pleasant music. The scene of a bard song has already become traditional at Kaniteli, becoming a separate powerful festival site. Especially for the Kanitel Festival, travel companies and organizers are developing a sightseeing and walking tour of the city, a tour in the village of Kanitel. Narovchat in Kuprinsky places and in Lermontov Museum-Reserve "Tarkhany" (s.Lermontovo) and others.

At the festival of masters, “Kanitel”, just like last year, will put up a stand with a list of some Penza houses with descriptions and photos. Residents of the city can vote which of them must be entered in the register of cultural heritage sites. A very beautiful platband with intricate carving inside, which was removed from one of the old houses and will be able to take part in its restoration, will be delivered to the festival site. Of course, this is not a restoration, but for the most part cosmetic repairs, but it is important for us that as many Penzents as possible put their hand to this, make a small contribution to preserving the past of our city.

The “Kanitel” festival is unique in that it is the result of effective cooperation between the festival organizers, city and regional authorities, official and information partners, participants and guests of the festival. By the “Kanitel” festival, participants start preparing more than six months later, residents of the city are waiting for the start of the fair and festival almost a year, the guests come to Penza especially for the beginning of the festival from different regions of Russia and not only. Last year the festival acquired a large social orientation. And in 2019, more than 100 children from socially unprotected groups of the population will have the opportunity to attend free workshops on traditional crafts; socially oriented public organizations will take part with charity exhibitions and fairs; as part of the volunteer team, children who are registered in the department for minors and people with disabilities will take part.

In 2019, inclusive workshops from various regions of the Russian Federation will take part in the festival. By competitive selection will be selected the best inclusive craft workshops of the Russian Federation. An interactive platform will be organized with the participation of inclusive workshops from regions of the Russian Federation. The festival is designed to show folk crafts in all its glory, to ensure continuity in traditions, to talk about the roots of many types of modern needlework, to provide a platform for meeting and exchanging experience of masters from different regions and countries. The bird of happiness was chosen as the symbol of the festival, and the name derives from the traditional craft for the Penza region of handicrafts - golden embroidery. The festival “Canitel” develops and promotes event tourism in our region, contributing to the expansion of cultural, tourist and business ties between the regions.

Receipt of applications from participants of the festival will begin in December 2018.
