SWIMSTAR ONE MILE SOCHI 2019 open water swimming competitions at a distance of 1 nautical mile (1.852 km) will be held in Sochi in early October.
SWIMSTAR is a series of open water swims that are held on the same weekend as the IRONSTAR triathlon competition.
Competitions are held in the water area of Imereti port (Morskoy Boulevard, 1), protected from waves and currents by two moles. The water temperature in the bay is 2 degrees warmer than in the open sea, and in October it varies from 19 to 24 degrees. Start - from the pier (rolling start).
Fans will be able to watch the swimmers throughout the distance - the water area is perfectly visible from the shore. The swim is held on the eve of large-scale triathlon competitions IRONSTAR - the legendary “iron” distance. Participants will start with the support of several thousand people who will arrive in Sochi for the grand closing of the triathlon season in Russia.
